Well, it's the file that is read at the start of every new session
right?  "profile" does not mean that; it's a relic from the past.
Call a spade a spade.

In my mind, the files sourced from the main script, including the
function definitions, are also config files but the main file is the
first to be sourced, or the initial configuration.  That suggests
"init.fish" or "main.fish".  On the other hand, the directory would
also contain "history" (or "command-history"?); is that a
configuration file and do "init" or "main" mean the right thing in
relation to "history"?  Of course poetically, "Dot config, slash fish;
slash config, dot fish" is much more satisfying. Could be memorable
and easier to type... Like a Vedic chant.
