Let me say in advance that it may not be a fish problem at all... but I have little clue and hope someone can shed some light on it.
I complied and installed fish on my department server and somehow since then the apache server crash every time the weekly cron job is run... One of my colleagues suspects that installing fish may change some libraries hence causing the problem. The server is running Ubuntu 12.04 and the complains from apport.log are: ERROR: apport (pid 17192) Sun Sep 9 06:39:27 2012: called for pid 27165, signal 11 ERROR: apport (pid 17192) Sun Sep 9 06:39:27 2012: executable: /usr/lib/apache2/mpm-prefork/apache2 (command line "/usr/sbin/apache2 -k start") ERROR: apport (pid 17192) Sun Sep 9 06:39:27 2012: is_closing_session(): no DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS in environment ERROR: apport (pid 17192) Sun Sep 9 06:39:46 2012: wrote report /var/crash/_usr_lib_apache2_mpm-prefork_apache2.0.crash ERROR: apport (pid 19230) Sun Sep 9 10:46:49 2012: called for pid 15151, signal 11 ERROR: apport (pid 19230) Sun Sep 9 10:46:49 2012: executable: /usr/local/bin/fish (command line "fish") ERROR: apport (pid 19230) Sun Sep 9 10:46:49 2012: executable does not belong to a package, ignoring Could installing fish cause the problem? I sort of expecting the last complain since the fish I got is from github not from the Ubuntu repo. We are running out of ideas of what causes the problem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
