Let me start with a thank you for the replies. In the end, I solved the
issue by building and installing the git master branch.

That would mean that there should be multiple 'fishd.ID' files. Since
there is only one file, I don't think that this is the problem. (I did
not check it though, so it is still possible).

I saw the links before and found no new information there (I just
installed fish, no update done). However, I did try the git master
branch as said above and this issue was resolved. I'll move back to 
stable branch upon the next release.
