I recently ordered a myler bit for driving, and I must say I am very,
very pleased with it. I purchased it because I was getting some
resistance when I asked Elph to get on the bit. He would shake his head
and evade, and I think that the “French link” that turned out to be a
Dr. Bristol was uncomfortable when I was trying to get a bit of bend. I
find that now when I am driving in the myler (and actually I am riding
in it too, I like it so well that I switch it back and forth, sigh!)
that I can control direction much more subtly, that it is easier to
correct him if he is drifting in a turn or not going straight. Best of
all the bend is getting accomplished! I ask for a little more every
time I go out, give him lots of breaks in between because I know it is a
lot of different work, but we are really having good improvement there.
So it is doing everything I wanted, and performing as billed – how often
do you get to say that?!?

I ordered a two loop butterfly, 5 ½ inch, stainless steel with copper
inserts, 7/16th in diameter, No. 32 mullen barrel. Whew, it was a lot
to go through, I read the book, watched the video, talked to a few
different people about their experience. Lots and lots of choices to
make, but I’m satisfied. Ordered from Celine Rickards of Carriage
Driving Essentials.
