Hi all,
Thank you for all the "itchy udder" responses. I'm glad to hear that
Osa isn't the only one to love being scratched :-) .
The skin looks good and there is no bad smell. I'll get the vet to look
when he's here. Liked the idea of using diaper rash ointment after
cleaning. Seems like that would help protect the tender skin too.
She's just so funny asking for a scratch. Then when you do start to
scratch her belly and udder area she stretches out further and further
until you're sure she'll fall over. The whole while twitching her lip
with a very blissful expression. Funny girl.
On the winter riding note, we ride all winter here too. Cold is ok,
it's the wind I hate. The horses do fine bare footed as long as we have
a cushion of snow on the hard ground and we usually keep it slow unless
we know there is a nice grippy/sticky snow.
