I KNOW that my mental state will
carry down the reins and she will know my anxiety. Any suggestions on this
dreaded performance ? Or perhaps on how to improve my score on the required
moves
when I launch off ? Point my toes ? They will be squished into boots.

When I get in tough spots where the horse is feeling my stress ( the oh
sh-- ) situation, I do my best to sing. It don't matter if you can't carry a
tune in a bucket, and or don't know the words to anything. Just the fact
that they here your voice and your breathing is relaxed ( in order to sing
you have to breath regularly ), helps them to calm. They feel your regular
breathing think your o.k so this must be o.k. It has always worked for me,
and I have gotten out a a few stickie spots, good horse, calm breathing, and
not holding my breath. We all get through it. I use this with my lessons and
it always works for the beginners and you will see them sing when they get a
bit stressed.
I would however suggest attaching a few streamers, a variety of colors to
your butt. That should make for a nice rainbow effect with the proposed
"triple gainer with a 1/2 twist thrown in for technical difficulty". maybe
even a 10.0 : ))
Best of luck,
