Hello List,
We had a lot of fun at Libby this year including both the nfhr eval and
the show. I only brought my nine year old mare Budeia this year and it was
much easier just caring for one! I brought a friend of mine, Becky Isreal,
with
me this year and she rode while I concentrated on the driving. I was very
pleased with how Budeia did in all her classes and the eval. We took her in
conformation again, (done orig. as a 3 1/2 yr old) and intro english. She was
ready for the intro driving but I was nervous so decided to do that one next
time along with adv english. She recieved her first medalion of quality.
Many thanks to all the fine crew for both events including Sherrie
Dayton, Shirley Anderson, The Sorens, Mike May, Our Evaluators Wayne Hipsley &
Jim
Havelhurst, The Johnsons, and Silvia Riddle. It was a pleasure to meet
evaluator trainee Pat Wolfe and also Phillip Odden and Else Bigton. The
grounds
were clean and quiet with plenty of shavings for all and many improvements.
The
new enter and exit gates made for safe class changes and were appreciated by
all. As usual it was exciting to see such fine performances by The Jensens,
the Petersons, Gayle Ware, Beth Beymer and many more. I enjoyed making many new
friends and renewing friendships with folks I only get to see at Libby:)
Congrats to Don Torgunrud on his new stallion Flotren! The Sunday flag
presentation was something to see with three gold medalion stallions as part of
it with
Julie riding Raynor (Ursula's boy), Gayle Ware riding Dusty, and Beth riding
Obey. Hope the photos of that come out well. I get my six rolls of film back
on Monday, can't wait! So nice to meet Solveig Watanabe, a real trooper at 7
months pregnant doing a great job driving and showing with husband and baby
Levi helping out on the grounds:) Too much to write about. I think this was
my
favorite Libby of all. Kathleen Rollins, Cornerstone Fjords, Deer Park, WA
