This message is from: "lassesen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello ALL!
WOW... what a week END! I met many lurkers and people on the LIST this weekend and had a wonderful time! THANK YOU to EVERYONE that helped in the LIBBY SHOW! It was a well managed and I HAD FUN! Of course, I came with the intention of having FUN and DID. Thanks to my good friend and fellow...trouble maker, Amy Evers and to my most tolerant stallion... "Ole" aka "Pony Boy" aka "The Man" aka "Blaamann" ... He let Amy and me do everything under the sun to him... and he did not ONCE give us a problem. What a love he is... If you have not heard... "Ole (Blaamann), Lena (AMY) and Helga (me)" won first in the single cart turn out for the parade and then won the overall HIGH POINT THEME Enterance for the Parade.... we also finished our showing by winning the Adult Costume Class. Poor "Ole" (Blaamann) wore pants and a sweatshirt with gold chains as he carried LENA (Amy) and pulled HELGA (me) on skis in the arena. In between playing around... we did place well in the more serious classes. Ladies Cart, Barrel Racing, Log Skidding, Weight Pull, and Cones. I was DQed in the OPEN Driving for 2 canter steps.... oh well... I at least looked good! (ha) Our poor camping neighbors, Cathy and Kathy had to put up with our singing of "Camp Granada" when the second day gave us rain. The weather Gods were fickled. We had warm 70 plus weather to rain to 25 F in the morning...with ice. Camping was a challenge. :-) It was fun to board next to Gene and Ruthie Bushnell and their great stallions, geldings and foals. Their Fjords had their winter coats already due to 25F weather in MT. They were well behaving and did their jobs! The grey gelding is a match for our LYDER who is the best FJORDEE in California. He does therapeutic riding for Hold Your Horses in Modesto, CA. I admit ours would not win an Evaluation award, but he is the best minded and well behaved Fjord and does his job well. Fjords like these do have a place in the world. There was a beautiful mare for sale that a little girl rode in almost every class. Wow! what a mare! She did everything for the little girl. I am sorry I did not catch the names, but it was a pleasure to see such a wonderful mare. I had a wonderful time and cannot wait until next year. Thank you LIBBY MT organizers and thank you to everyone that helped us have a good time... I loved meeting everyone and talking with everyone and playing... WAHOOOO!
