** I like to do this on the trail. Since I now have to trailer to parks, it's less of an issue, but when I rode straight out from the barn, we all know what happens when you head for home. Heee-yaaa! Same rules applied for in-hand grazing, wait for the command, lift head when asked. I would pick a spot towards the end of the ride, far from the barn, which was good and safe for grazing. It didn't take long to have horses who would canter away from the barn ;-) I used to be totally "anti-Parelli, didn't think much of his big show, type thing. but he seems willing to learn from all the good horsemen of the ages and incorporates into his constantly changing program. ** I like him a lot, and understand that the showman personality is what got natural horsemanship into the mainstream.
