There is a geat non-toxic product out there called 'M-T-G' (Mane-Tail
Groomer)...We encounter the itchy tail rubbing and mane rubbing as well
at Horseshoe, with all breeds...This product was developed originally for
humans, its a bit stinky, but has been exceptional at removing any
fungus, dry skin and 'whatever' from all of our horses. It is really easy
to apply, just squeeze a bit onto tail and mane, some say it repels
insects as well, it is made by a company called 'Shapley's' ...ask your
local tack shop, if they can't get it, I carry it at my tack shop here in
