** Interesting idea, but I wonder if it would be cost effective. The trainers I know charge $500+ per month. That may or may not include board. If the filly will be weaned at 6 months, that's 4 months of board and training at $2000+. Add hoof care, extra feeds, and medical needs which may arise ($250+). Now, stallion owners charge $500- $1000 for breeding. Even with natural breeding, there will probably be vet bills to make sure the mare is healthy and pregnant ($250+). You can see the dollar signs adding up :-) The rock bottom estimate would be $3000. So, if a weanling filly can sell for that amount, the trainer might come out even.
