Well said, Pat. I don't know how many times I've explained that getting away with something and training are not the same! You'd be amazed how many people claim a horse is saddle trained because someone sat on its back once, or cart trained because it was hitched up once and nothing went wrong. Yikes! One of my barn mates recently purchased a 3 year old draft cross, untrained. The first day home she saddled the filly and lunged her. Next day, she rode her at the walk, and the following day, at the trot. A few days later she took the horse out for a trail ride including cantering.
