Welcome Susan! There was an article in this month's Practical Horseman about
schooling water hazards. It was for eventing, but it may be worth a look to
see what ideas in it will work for driving. Philip Dutton wrote the article
and it seemed quite informative, and there was a super cool picture where he
is teaching a young mare to enter the water and she LEPT in, well he is
about lying on her back in the air with his feet on her shoulders but he
slipped the reins so as to not hit her in the mouth and all was well.
