drawing with a pencil, on the kitchen table beside his mom.  he stood up on
the chair, lost his balance and fell to the ground.  he started crying and

he ended up in surgery to remove the pencil.  luckily it did'nt penetrate
the brain tissue but did puncture the brain lining.  he is a normal teenager

I have a nephew that is blind in one eye for a very similar reason. Running with a pencil that had the eraser removed so the end was a nasty sharp jagged piece of metal. It gives a whole new meaning to the old "Your going to put your Eye out with that" you probably heard from Mom when you were a kid.

He too is grown up now and does ok with the one eye.
