I haven't heard the term 4 point trim, but I am familar with the 1/3 ratio. It has sure helped a welsh cross pony that I am boarding. This pony has been foundered many times with this type of trimming his feet look a 100% better. It involves trimming the toes back and rounding off the foot. Some call this a wild trim.
