Hi List, from Cedar City, Utah, where the leaves up on the mountian are a
neon blast of orange, red, brown, and green.....fall is comming, even though
it was a beautiful 82 today.....you FEEL it comming !
This week found us weaning the ' 99 colt, PF Valjo from his mom, who
imedietly taught him that he could still nurse through the fence..... : (
She has been shipped back to her owner, up North, looking crappy from her
huge baby taking all of her nourishment, and Im glad NOT to be feeding her
anymore, ( we were pouring on the meals ) but will miss her wonderful
maternal nature and still look in awe at the gorgious foal she presented to
us. He is simply the nicest thing we have had born at Pedersens Fjords.
Our barn is dismantled and in a million pieces in So. Calif. Now, for the
big task of putting it back together ( gulp ) here in Utah. First getting it
here, will be fun !
So glad you all had fun at Libby, and we wish the Fjords and owners at
Turlock a happy and safe show this weekend, We had so much fun there last
year, cant believe we are missing both of these last Fjord events, but,
theres always next year !
My herd is almost complete now, with the arrival of Sophie ( Belgian ) the
elephant horse. She remains the bottom of the pecking order in the herd of
Fjords, and even the youngest and smallest ones will push her away from feed
piles with a dirty look. The smallest part of her back is well 4 inchs over
the top of my head....and makes the Fjords look like minis ! She needs some
major farrier work as her feet were neglected for awhile now......but my
shoer said she should be fixed in a few months of corrective work. So,
Sophie, you are off the hook for major training right now, just glad to get
her here !
Need rest now, good-night from our full moon beautiful Utah ! Good-Luck at
the show guys, cant wait to hear all about it !
