Bonnie,

Thanks for the clarification.  From now on "whatever it is he does"
will be called a singlefoot at our house.  I wasn't sure what to call
it - some local horsemen said it was a pace, some claimed it was a rack
- a local man who raises singlefooters (ugly things actually) said it
definitely wasn't a singlefoot, but after watching his mare "do her
thing" I'm not sure either he or the mare knew what they were doing! 
Mostly she just went fast, and terribly out of control.  Not a horse I
want around anywhere I'm riding, thank you very much.
