Hmmmm.  Sounds pretty SCRATCHY to me!!  We used to
have horsehair blankets to use in the wagon/sleigh in
the winter(the only way to town in the winter when I
was a small child was by horsedrawn wagon or sleigh). 
They were REALLY made of horsehair!!  Warm, but VERY
scratchy!
