Hi from cool and still buggy north WI,
On Wed. morning as I was grooming Heidi, I noticed a soft and kind of
squishy lump about the size of a golf ball on Heidi's neck. It is just
to the left of her spine about where her mane starts. It seems to be
under the skin only and when I move it or touch it, she does not seem to
be in pain from it. Since she is my 1st horse, do I just watch it or
enter a state of panic and get the vet out ASAP? Could she have rolled
on something and this is a bruise and will go away on its own? It has
not changed in size but is just there. My other concern is will a
saddle or harness do it more harm? I know, one cannot expect a
diagnosis sight unseen, but I will appreciate any advice I get on the
matter.
