Somebody said that they made a mixture, one part citronella oil, five parts water. Shake it, mix it and apply it. Her mare was cured completely and the midges stayed away. I remember somebody was looking for a home for a mare with sweet itch. Maybe this remedy (and that on the website) would be of some use, and they could possibly be able to keep their mare?
