<< How we love these pets and often release our locked up emotions for family onto to the animals instead. >> Nope, loved that animal far more than the gone part of my family -- and don't judge me unless you've met some of them. But this does seem a grieving time, and I am so sick of crying even if it is cathartic. Phyllis' story about her Arab got me going again this morning. But how lucky to have had such love in our lives. What would be sad would be nothing to mourn. On the bright side, I found a trainer I liked last night -- I've been shopping for a good long while and been turned off by local cowboys who give clinics overseas (bet they think we're special) and still think you train a horse by yanking the hell out of its mouth in anger and wearing BIG spurs. Found a knowledgeable woman who raises Anglo/Arabs, all of who rush up wanting to be pet when they see you -- good sign in my books. The girls are going to boarding school next month and it will be money well spent. I know many of you do it yourselves, but I really do know my limitations. Gail in Las Cruces
