Hi all! I'm very intrested in the genetics of horse colour at the moment, why I have some questions: Many years ago, I knew a wite dun fjord gelding that had GREY eel and points. This was the first white dun I ever encountered, which made me think that grey was the normal colour for eel and points for white duns. Now, I've been thinking about this for some time and my question is: have anyone else seen fjords with grey eel or WHITOUT eel in mane/tail and BROWN (not black!) eel on the back? It would be very intresting to know. They don't have to be white dun. I'm intrested to know of any horse with grey markings. Another question: we talk about the five different fjord colours - brown, red, grey, white/uls and yellow dun. But what happens if a grey dun horse also has the creme-gene(C)? I guess they should be called 'smokey grey dun' or something. What do they look like? Do we know of any such horses? At least we should add this colour to the possible fjord colours, since there must be a chanse for a fjord to be 'smokey grey dun' or am I wrong on this one?
