Hello from Carol Rivoire at Beaver Dam Farm in Nova Scotia --

It's only January. The snow is piled high, and the horses are fat and
furry. However, now is the time when we have to get our ducks in order for
our busy summer season. Busy is an understatement for our farm in Spring.

This year, we hope to have two new and wonderful trainers and teachers on
staff here full-time. One has more than thirty years experience training,
teaching, and competing in dressage and jumping. His qulaifications are
awesome! He rode in the 1981 mini Olympics in Japan, for instance . . . and
won! He's trained horses to Grand Prix in dressage. He's run some very big
stables, and taught some notable riders. --- Our other trainer is an
"exquisite dressge rider" and is licensed in Europe to teach dressage from
beginner to advanced. She also has a lot of experience with Fjordhorses,
having owned and trained a Fjord stallion.

We expect three foals this Spring from Stine (Ene), Holly (Solar), and
Maryke (Hjerter-Knaeghtj) - all sired by Gjest, of course. Maybe we'll
get a stallion prospect out of this crop. Gjest will be 25 this year, and
hopefully still fertile. We'll have him tested at the veterinary college on
Prince Edward Island as soon as the ice goes out in the bay and the ferry
starts running again. We expect he'll be fine. He was certainly fertile
last year, and he's in wonderful health, and looking good.

Anyway, we are at this time, accepting Fjordhorses on consignment to train
and sell under our name. Last season, we had a wonderful group of
Consignment Horses. They were so good that some were practically sold
before they arrived at the farm in early May. People were calling and
calling. We had four geldings, ages 3, 4, 5 & 7. They came from NY, NH and
VA, and went to MA, MI , NY & NH. ---- And we had four mares from NY and
CT. They went to NJ, MI, NY & CT.

With our new trainers on board this season, we'll be able to do an even
better job for our customers (both sellers and buyers).
We're really terribly excited about this. We feel that with a permanent
staff of such high qulaity horsepeople, we'll be seeing a very big
difference in the performance capabilites of the horses we turn out.

If you don't want to sell your horse, but would like a much more pleasurable
ride and/or drive, our new trainers can make that happen for you. ---
Sending your horse to Nova Scotia is simple - No duties or quarantine.
Only a Coggins certificate and an International Health Certificate required.
And it's surprisingly inexpensive.

We'll be glad to talk with you about any horse that you need help with,
either training or for sale.

NOVA SCOTIA BEGINNER DRIVING VACATIOINS - Starting June 24th. We're now
taking reservations for this summer. The Charming Cottage is all but
booked. One week remaining. And the June 24th week is almost booked, one
place remaining. Other than that, there are still openings for all
eeks. --- Join us for a really fun and educational experience. It doesn't
get any better than summertime in Nova Scotia. --

Best Regards, Carol Rivoire
