This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hello everyone,
I thought I should share the current plans for the Waverly auction. There are numerous people going to this auction from the Fjord community, thank goodness! We are asking people to consider wearing a red bandana so all of us can recognize each other and hopefully, to avoid bidding against each other. This is a huge auction, it is highly doubtful we will be close enough to recognize people wearing a Fjord T-shirt, sweatshirt, cap, etc. Cataloged horses will start to be auctioned on March 27, finish on March 28, then unconsigned horses will go through. Friday and Saturday evening is reserved for the auctioning of the kill pens. The cataloged Fjords begin at lot # 410, with Hamlett's herd beginning at lot # 415. It is possible some, if not all, the Fjords will go through on Thursday versus Friday, depending on how fast the auction is going. We know of one confirmed non-cataloged Fjord as of this point in time, although it is highly possible there will be more. This is the imported stallion, VIKTOR FRA SKARHAUG N-00-2529. We will also not know if any Fjords will be in the kill pens, these do not fill up until the owners actually show up at the auction and choose to "dispose" of them versus place minimum bids. The UEF will only be bidding on high risk Fjords that fall within the meat price category. We have no intentions of bidding against people wanting a Fjord, but we will bid against meat buyers. We just hope we can figure out who is who! That will be the hardest part. Most of the meat buyers will be in the ring itself, but there are always a few scattered through the seats. Our farm, as in Bailey's, has been requested to bid on a specific colt for a farm in the Northeast. This colt is named Skyview Henry. We wish to let everyone know that in this instance, our farm, NOT the UEF, will be bidding above meat price if necessary.
