  Under the current North American Evaluation system I would hesitate,
  however if the horse had a chance to be evaluated in a real 60 or
  100 day test I would feel comfortable in gelding him.

  I would definitely not breed them, but I would not have them spayed.
  Unless the procedure has changed a lot recently I believe that
  spaying a mare is much more risky and expensive than gelding a
  stallion.

  Yes. Before getting Tank, we were involved with the American
  Trakehner Association because we own a registered part-Trakehner
  mare. At that time I became convinced that the European approach to
  breeding horses was far superior to the free=wheeling North American
  way.
