My 13.3 Gunnar is more the stocky type, but he carried, ridiculous looking,
a six footer whose legs were too long for the stirrups, and he probably
weighed 190 or more. There was no hesitation and even a buck as he has a
tender mouth, the Fjord that is. I do not think their own weight is a plus
with the smaller horses. Muscle and good conditioning is very important.
But small is small and the appearance alone of a larger rider is sometimes
disconcerting. Jean
