I'd like to ad to that. I'm sure there are many similar stories out there to share. Here's mine:
I've been trying to fit a Norwegian harness for use with our "other than Norwegian" shafts. For those of you who don't know, Norwgian harness attaches to the shaft via a wooden peg/metal tongue system, that attaches to the collar, which combines with a hole that is drilled into the end of the shaft. This system, in effect, works as both saddle and britchen on the surcingle/saddle of the harness.
While working on this, and trying to figure out how the pieces go together and work as a harness, I have used two stallions, Felix and BDF Obelisk. Each has been bumped in the butt by the cart...due to my inability to figure out how to get the britchen to work...not only once, but several times (while I was driving them!) Each simply "eared" back to me as if to say, "What are you asking me to do?"
Well, I think I have if figured out now...but I'd like to thank our wonderful horses for their incredible capacity to tolerate our human fallibilities, once again.
