I'm sure I speak for all the members of the Northeast Fjord Horse Assoc.
(NFHA) when I say we share everyone's distress both at Karen Cabic's
personal loss and at the unfortunate cancellation of the Finger Lakes
Show. We all can relate to the difficulty of losing a parent and to the
amount of hard work that goes in to putting on a show.

For many years, the Finger Lakes Show Committee has put on a well run and
fun show that NFHA has helped support through member participation, and by
use of our blanket insurance coverage for their event. In turn, many NY
Fjord owners have participated in the NFHA annual show, formerly held for
many years at the Green Mountain Horse Association (GMHA) facility in
Woodstock, VT until moving to a site in Spencer Mass, the past two
seasons.

This year, the show venue has been relocated back to Vermont, at the
lovely Winchester Stables Equine Center in Newfane, VT. Winchester Stables
is about 12 miles north of Brattleboro, VT (southern Vermont), just off VT
Route 30. Winchester Stables is under very helpful and cooperative new
management, and the show promises to be a lot of fun. Entrants can arrive
any time the week of the show, and stalls will be available in the WS
barn.

Friday evening will be devoted to gymkhana games, and those will be
followed by a FREE cookout and wine/cheese reception hosted by NFHA. Most
ridden classes (including dressage) will be on Saturday, followed by an
excellent buffet banquet ($20 per person) with cash bar at the nearby
Brattleboro Country club.

Sunday will be focused on driven classes, also including driven dressage.
For more details or to enter, please visit the NFHA web site
(www.northeastfjord.com) or contact the Show Manager (Curt Pierce:

Hope to see you there.
