In my experience, having grown up in saddle/harness repair shops, I have found that synthetic harnesses need to be cleaned just as often and as thoroughly as leather. Sweat and dirt stick to it just as bad, and it will definitely take more than just a squirt of a hose to remove. Excess water left on synthetic harness can cause just as much damage to stitching as on leather harness. About the only real difference in care is oiling of leather, which only needs to be done maybe once a year if you properly care for the harness. Don't make the mistake of thinking Synthetic means care (work) free...
