My thoughts are with all who are struggling through the forest fires. It was good to hear Sarah's good news that her animals were OK and that Jeff continues to be safe. Many have mentioned starting to write disaster plans. Our local horse club will be discussing that tonight. I was wondering if there is a repository so-to-speak of sample disaster plans that groups can draw on when writing their own plan. Does anyone out there have one that they would like to share? It seems silly for each group to reinvent the wheel.

My sister lives in La Jolla and is housing two friends' families and her temple is housing an evacuated old age home. Where she lives has been missed by all of the fires since she has lived there but they have had a road or two washed out with mud slides. We have had some bad floods in my new home state of Connecticut this fall but we have missed them in our area. Still people are getting smart and starting to write plans. Recently there was a training session for firefighters on how to handle large animals; I heard it was rather amusing to see these big strong brave men cowered by horses.

Stay safe everyone.

  Hi all.

Jeff is OK, spent some time resting today. He will be back out
there tomorrow, the start of 4 more days on straight. If all go's well, then he
will leave for home next Mon.
The Santiago fire is still raging. Today....they set alot of
backfires to try and stop it from going towards Trabuco Canyon. The winds shifted
and instead, it has come back towards Silverado Canyon again.
