This message is from: kate charboneau <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I have followed some excellent advice given on this list, and last summer bought an older (sorry, other-than-Fjord) gelding that has Halt as his default speed. I keep him at a place that's right on my way home from work that has a heated indoor arena. We ride every day after work, and take a lesson a week. This is the same trainer that had my Fjord, Fred, for 30 days last July. My goal was to achieve "average" in my confidence and in my perception of my own riding skills by spring. Well, I'm here to tell yah that IT IS WORKING!!! I am little miss canter with confidence these days! It feels so good, I really do think I have achieved "average"! Average is a great place to be. I am going to send Fred back to the trainer in May & June; he'll be four, and I am a very different rider now than I was last year. I assume that I'll probably keep him boarded there through the summer, fall & winter, to ride every day & have lessons each week. I have real hope that this will be a wonderful year for Fred & me. :) _________________________________________________________________ Share life as it happens with the new Windows Live. http://www.windowslive.com/share.html?ocid=TXT_TAGHM_Wave2_sharelife_012008
