Before we get too critical or vocal, maybe someone should contact the
organizers and find out why
"children are not welcome"
at their CDE. There could be lots of reasons, and there may be a few
exceptions. Sometimes liability insurance gets wonky. Sometimes
organizers have had horrid experience with children. Some children
should be left at home (supervised), and not brought to a competitive
equestrian event. Some children may be quite welcome if one were to
talk with the organizer. There is a big difference between toddlers
and preschoolers running around at a competition while their adults
watch and are oblivious to dangers for the kids (and others), and
knowledgeable, learning young people taking part. Let's not be too
quick to judge!
