Didn't the oil make things slick? I had a similar stock trailer for 20+ yrs. Every year I would replace boards, as necessary, with pressure-treated lumber and then would soak the entire floor with used motor oil. Seemed to work here in wet NW OR and I never had to replace any of the PT boards I put in. They stayed safe and solid, even on the ends.
