Wow - I posted this at least 3 weeks ago... I did try that .. Kinda exhausted my options.. And ended up not using the images inside textfields. I am dynamically building all the interface elements into a scrollable pane... Much better, at least it works as expected this way round..
Thanks for the reply, seems those little textfields have been an issue to a few of us as of late.. At least since flash 8 they are now more readable than they use to be... Hmmm...
