Cake is the same framework for PHP ARP and Cairngorn are also frameworks.... Ruby on Rails has a number of scripts which will construct the empty application shell for you.... ....some similar work has been done in ARP using C#, i dont know about Cairngorm. hope that clears it up for you..... Correct me if I'm not getting this correctly. But for the sake of argument; I do not believe ARP and or Cairngorm are the same as Ruby in regards to PHP. ARP + Cairngorm give you some handles on how to architect your application, but nothing more than that. Ruby on rails gives the developer (I think) the tools to build a complete webapp in a fast and simple manner. That's why I think the simmilarities between Flex and Ruby on rails are much bigger then let's say Ruby and ARP.
