I've yet to use Fusekit (only used MX tras / tween) and have been quite happy with performance / usability.
I realize that Fusekit's API is far more sexy and desireable, but so far haven't seen them do anything that I can't accomodate myself. Such as a Sequence, Parallel, etc. AS3 will also encapsulate most of this functionality in a very handy manner. I would recommend against it in some situations where performance is a factor. If it doesn't effect performance, it's a great set of classes. Just be sure to test test test. I ripped it out of a project because it brought my RIA to a crawl.
