Hi - I've looked into this, and it looks like to do this, you will have to use a row or cell renderer on the Tree. The documentation has examples on how to write a cell renderer, and I had emailed a row renderer example out I think yesterday to flexcoders. Using these examples you can have your renderer selectively display text color for particular nodes.
