Check your /WEB-INF/flex/services-config.xml file (or one of the files referenced in the services-config.xml service-include section) for the error.

I love flex and the mxml language but I'm finding the documentation on Flex Data Services to be a little lacking in detail. I can't wait for the first flex books to come out.
