You do have some control over how Flex Builder displays custom components, although documentation is scarce. You can move your components into a different folder. I'm not sure if you can remove components / prevent them from displaying, though. You have to muck in the mainfest and design.xml files.

I think it is not possible ;) But I might be wrong, it is the same
like making your own visual components, they wont be displayed in Flex
builder like stock components ever.
