I use VSPE - free for 32bit operating systems.

A very small charge for 64bit.

I use the free VSPE for virtual COM ports (free for 32 bit windows).

This is my setup:
1. COM8 is created as a "Connector" virtual port - this is used for PTT for
digital operations. In PowerSDR -> Setup -> Cat Control set PTT Control COM
port to COM8, check RTS, then check Enable PTT. Other programs like DM780,
EasyPal, Mars/Ale, etc.. should specify COM8 & RTS to provide the PTT signal to
PowerSDR.

2. COM11 is created as "Connector" virtual port - this is used for CAT control. In PowerSDR -> Setup -> Cat Control set CAT Control Port to COM11 (I used baud
rate 57600) and check the Enable CAT box.

3. COM12 is a "Splitter" virtual port - and it points to COM11. This allows
many programs to connect and share COM12 which is really going to COM11 at
PowerSDR. In ATAUTO s/w settings radio tab I use COM12 at 57600 baud rate.

4. COM13 is created as "Connector" virtual port - this I use for CW key control. I setup DM780 and PowerSDR's DPC Keyer screen to both use COM13. But I won't get
into CW setup in any detail here.

In VSPE be sure to do a File -> Save As and save your settings to a file. You will in the future double click this file to start VSPE before starting PowerSDR
or any other s/w that uses the virtual COM ports.
