I'd like to see VAC go away or be supplemented with a direct interface for programs like DM780. It would be nice to say to software: "transmit this PSK at 75 watts regardless of pass band location, No ALC, I don't want to fiddle with TX levels and monitor for distortion all the time." It seems to me that all the elements to do this already exist in the Flex products.
Something that doesn't need a bunch of false sound cards, serial ports, PTT, etc. To me SDR = Digital Modes.
