Incidentally, Joe, your transverter should have conversion gain that will also overcome much of any noise you would experience in the HF rig. For example, if you run with 20dB conversion gain and your NF on a 2304 transverter is 1dB, your MDS will be sent to the HF rig as a -126dBm signal (if I ran the numbers correctly). This should be above the noise in the HF rig as a general rule.
