Steve,

Yes, you are quite right. All my transverters have conversion gain of 20dB and 
NF of 1db-ish (disregarding pre-amp at antenna) and in general I don't see the 
DDC artifacts in normal operation. Thanks for pointing out the reality of the 
situation :)
