When considering gas discharge surge suppressors, another contender is Alpha
Delta Transitraps...
http://www.alphadeltacom.com/tt3g50.html
I use Polyphasers, Transitraps, and I.C.E.
Whichever product you select...
Consider your RF output power as well as operating frequencies. Some
suppressors have relatively narrow frequency ranges, others don't care much
until you start to approach 1000 MHz. Similarly, some have more restrictive
RF power limitations than others. (Use the right tool for the job...)
Consider if you are passing DC up the feedline to control switches &
preamps. Some suppressors block DC.
Consider ability to test & replace "plugs" for failure.
All of these are good products and well worth the investment/protection from
disaster. Depending on your application, some are better than others.
I am not endorsing one vs. another, but have spent a lot of time
(and $$) in this arena, and as always there are choices....
GL and may lightning and power surges avoid your QTH.

Polyphaser makes a good arrestor. Also look at ICE
(http://www.iceradioproducts.com/), they do it a little differently and
constantly drain DC to remove static off the antenna system
(http://www.iceradioproducts.com/33.htm). I swear by them.

William, Flex Users,
A Polyphaser or similar protection device connected in series with the FLEX
Radio and your antenna, with a GOOD ground connection may have saved your
station. The cost of a Polyphaser is less that the shipping cost to send
your Flex Radio in for repair. The devices can be found at the following
URL:
http://www.polyphaser.com/Products/prod/coax/
I require this protection on ALL commercial installations I do. Be sure to
use a #6 ground connection, or better to the device.
