Hi Brian,

I use the LDG RBA-1 I got it at the same time I got the Old "Z-11" tuner.

About 2000, I got the FT-817, tuner, balun and all.

Hi Brian,

I do not have the Z11Pro, but do have the original Z-11 tuner that I have
used with my FT-817. It works great at .5watt tuning. The Z-11 with a 4 to 1
Balun has match almost everything I have thrown at it. I often just throw up
some wire and operated while back packing in the Montana mountains.

What balun did you use?

When the ATU was a bit weak in the F3K, I used the Z-11 while keeping the
power below 50 Watts. It worked great.

The size is small and light weight. I use the a 9 volt battery internal to
power the Z-11. No appreciable current draw when not tuning.

If I could get powerSDR to operate on my netbook, I would consider replacing
the FT-817 with a Flex-1500:-)

That is precisely why I am asking this question. I am even looking to see if
I can run it on the OLPC.

Thanks for the input Jim.
