The idea of using a comparatively lightly built controller with a slew of mislabeled knobs, buttons, and sliders has, in my mind, very little appeal, conceptually or practically. I suspect that there will be relatively few in the Flex community who will elect to go this route.
That being said, the fact that I and others might find the idea unappealing is no reason why those who want it ought not have it. If I understand Brian correctly, little or no work will be required of Flex to make this implementation possible. Why are people pushing back? If people want to twist knobs, mash buttons (to quote LBJ), and tweak mechanical sliders, who are we to say they shouldn't?
