George, I use DL4YHF's Spectrum Lab software.
I put PowerSDR into USB and dial a couple of hundred Hertz lower
than the signal and record a post-processed wave file.
Then I play the wave file back while running Spectrum Lab. It
will tell me the audio offset from my "dial" frequency.
You should calibrate your sound card in Spectrum Lab. I use the
WWV tones in AM mode for accurate frequency.
You can also use K1JT's WSPR in FMT mode.
As your FMT sickness progresses, you will be concerned about the
accuracy of the 10 MHz reference that you feed into the Flex.
At this time I am satisfied with a Trimble Thunderbolt GPSDO.
You will also discover that as you tune PowerSDR, the frequency
may be slightly off the Hertz shown, due to DDS rounding.
I want to experiment with a marker signal that I can derive from
my GPSDO, although I try to do the FMT with just the transceiver
and the GSPDO.
