I spent some time doing this with the ShuttlePro. Eventually I got so
annoyed by not being able to easily get my radio on a precise frequency that
I redefined the config file for the ShuttePro.

Just as a general UI design issue, one should not need to use two controls
to achieve a single function. What you suggest will work but requires both
the use of the knob and the keyboard to achieve. Also, it is not consistent
because if you change the tuning step size you can end up with random
low-order digits again.

At the risk of offending, this feels like another example of lack of design
forethought in PowerSDR. This is like RX2 not having its own output stream,
the waterfall not scrolling when you tune, being locked into a 1024x728 main
display frame format, etc. It is like the software dictates to the coders
rather than the other way around.
