Robert, I believe that the pre-amp is always disabled on 160m in later versions of PowerSDR, just as it is always enabled on 6m. The fact that it is still selectable on the AM broadcast band is probably just an oversight. The decision to disable the pre-amp on 160m is a logical one. The fact that the same logic applies to the BC band is simply an oversight due to the fact that the developer was thinking in terms of the amateur bands. After all, although the Flex radios work as general coverage receivers, they are first & foremost designed for use within the amateur bands.
