Yes, some of the preamp defaults have changed in the last few PSDR versions. However you should not have a preamp at 160M. Someone else mentioned your database import is suspect.

It is ALWAYS better to start a new PSDR version with a factory default database. It is time consuming to tweak all your menu items, but that is the only way to make sure you have not imported something that is incompatible between old & new PSDR versions.

Do a fresh database restart, spend some time resetting your menus, then once things are right, export a few database versions, save them, and do this exercise every few days. If you run into trouble then it's an easy thing to restore to a known-good version which is only a few days old.

Another suggestion is to make hardcopy screen-prints of all your menu items (when you have a fresh PSDR working well). Then when you next have to build from a default database, you will know what menu settings you need to tweak. he database rebuild is still a pain, but it's easier since you're following a checklist of menu items.

Subject: [FlexEdge] Low band preamp

I just recently upgraded to 2.2.3 and notice that the preamp button is
highlighted on 160m (but I can not disable it). I also noticed that the
preamp can be enabled on the BC band although reception sounds better with
the preamp off (using a loop RX antenna).

Have there been some changes in the preamp functionality for the low bands
or do I have a setting awry? I did do a database import from 2.1.x, so
maybe I messed things up.
